Chats with my Dad this week, where despite his condition (dementia) he's still very lucid when it comes to gardening and is giving me all kinds of tips ahead of Spring

West Ham going back to 4th, so often before over the years we'd have kept falling down the league

The couple of days of clear blue skies we've had this week, topped off with a jay using one of our bird feeders on a daily basis, I find sitting watching that for a couple of hours is far better than anything on the box

The COO equalising on Saturday...unfortunately though, another false dawn

Open mic session at a pub I go to on a wednesday, some old bloke approaching or past 70 driving 20 miles just to sing 4 old folk songs (very well as well0

BTW Nice thread.

But if Nurse, the woman who FREELY admits to having the words London BRICK Co embossed on her heart is the one leading the charge to lighten up, soften that frown and be thankful...

....We all need to take a bit of a look in the mirror boys :-)

Yep, I agree that Irish Hammer is too nice to have a rotten illness but it's lovely to see him posting amazing articles about us.

I WHOMAILED him and said any time he gets back to London he can have me and my brother's season ticket. We've got great seats literally 20 feet from the technical area.

My granddaughter Marjorie in Tasmania. I always thought that I would hate being a grandad but she amazes me. I well up just thinking about her.

Andrea, my missus who has been utterly amazing since I had a little run in with a car which broke virtually every fucking bone in my body.

The pure joy of waking up with her and one of our cats snuggled up between us wanting his belly rubbed.

West Ham United. Has there ever been a better time to be a supporter? I remember everyone having pictures of the team in their windows and scarves and all kinds of stuff before the 1980 Cup final. I couldn't believe we even had a chance as we were in the second division and Arsenal were a dominant force in world football.

Made myself a cracking Breakfast this morning with a lovely coffee afterwards.
I feel peaceful and content today
Having a good chat with our cat, we are good buddies and I talk to him a lot, very calming.
Slept well without any horrible stuff and am grateful for that
Enjoying reading this thread where people saying nice things about their kids. My wife and I are travelling abroad for IVF in March and us having a child would be my dream, its lovely to read about the positive times people have with their kids.

Re: Five Lovely Things
1. Several hours spent with my two year old grandson on Sunday, literally watching him progressing into life by the minute.
2. Several hours spent at Cliffe Pools, walking in the countryside and along the Thames seeing all manner of birdlife including several thousand Dunlins in Murmuration.
3. The all clear from the cardiology specialist at Maidstone hospital.
4. West Ham's last two games.
5. Dipping back into my music library listening to stuff I haven't heard for donkey's years.

1 - Hanging out my lad's West Ham shirt by his bed last night (its the morning signal that they have won as he's too young to stay up for the result).
2 - The sun actually has some warmth as it currently shines through my office window.
3 - So Central Rain by REM
4 - Red squirrels in the garden
5 - Some of the humanity and compassion shown on the mental health thread

Re: Five Lovely Things
Nurse what have you done? This is very un-WHO

But in for a penny...

1. Moody teenage daughter has been happy and chatty and generally not like a teenager for the last 48 hours [no link]

2. All the kids are at uni/school during the day so I can WFH in peace which is great

3. I live in a lovely city and every day I am so glad I moved away from London

4. I've had take aways for almost every day this week

5. I look forward to going to work

[If I can just get access to my phone number back after some cunt nicked my phone and I've since been locked out of mobile phone network account and gmail account then everything will be good... they didn't get any money from anywhere but I still can't get back into my phone/gmail accounts]

What are your 5 lovely things Nursey?

1, Sunshiney day for walking out in the countryside around RTW.

2. Daffs on their way offering the prospect of an early spring

3. Had a call with an old mate I haven't seen in a while.

4. Sunday morning TV without the sanctimonious sweaty, Andrew Marr

5 . My bird-feeders are a constant source of joy, particularly in winter

Aria Pignose
It is a travel guitar with a built-in Pignose amp. Perfect for some evil swamp blues or doom. I tweaked the amp to be just on the edge of feedback when the volume is fully up.

I'm getting stronger following my recovery from Covid.
The sun has been shining this week and my solar panels have been earning their keep.
I saw a kingfisher the other day.
West Ham are winning again.
I have arranged to meet an old mate for lunch on Saturday.
